Elementary Teacher (Full-time)
Teacher’s Aide (Part-time)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
-
Demonstrate a love for God: spiritual maturity, teachable spirit, reverence towards God, knowledge, and application of Biblical teaching, model an exemplary Christian walk, submission to authority

Demonstrate a love for students: treat each child as uniquely gifted by God, discipline all students fairly and firmly with love, evaluate each student fairly.

Demonstrate professional competence: maintain an orderly classroom, maintain a close team attitude, work with other teachers and staff, and build relationships with our parents.

BA or BS from an accredited college or university and current teacher certification are preferred but not mandatory.
Requirements
-
2 - 3 years of experience, including experience working with ELL students.

A self-motivated, energetic, organized, flexible individual who desires to relate, nurture, and minister to children
-
Must be a person of spiritual maturity with academic abilities and leadership qualities
-
Display strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills
-
Ability to integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.

Ability to use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction

The candidate must be able to walk up and down three flights of stairs.

ESSENTIAL JOBS and DUTIES of the TEACHER:
-
Provide direct instruction to students using an established curriculum.
-
Organize the curriculum as such to be able to complete all/majority of the curriculum within the school year.
-
Develop and implement age-appropriate daily lessons that follow the school's curriculum plan.
-
Create and maintain a fun, safe, and age-appropriate classroom environment where the children will learn, grow, and thrive socially and spiritually.
-
Establish and maintain a well-functioning team with the school assistants and/or parent volunteers in the classroom.
-
Delegate in an appropriate manner those duties in which the assistant teacher or parent volunteers will support the classroom.
-
Create and maintain a classroom behavior plan.
-
Assign weekly or daily homework. The amount of homework assigned will be at the teacher’s discretion, but the administrator's homework plan will need to be approved. (Homework: specific assignments/projects NOT the general practice of material. E.g., “Practice your math facts.”)

Discuss concerns you may have about your students with administration and with parents.
-
Create and communicate lesson plans and weekly communications with parents and with administration.
-
Be available to colleagues for questions, problem-solving, and collaboration.
-
Observe and document student's progress toward achievement of established developmental standards.
-
Write child/classroom observations and progress reports.
-
Be available/participate in staff meetings, in-service and parent events, special programs, and parent/teacher conferences.

Maintain professionalism, calm demeanor, and confidentiality in a busy open setting.

Dress modestly in business casual attire.
-
Arrive at school 45 minutes before school start time and stay one hour after completion of school daily.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
